An Assignment: The First Webpage Design
The goal of this assignment is to create a personal Web site which is publicly accessible from the Internet.
The details of the assignment are listed below.
1. You may use any of “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) software programs to do this assignment. The software program can be FrontPage, SharePoint Designer, or Expression Web programs. Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 is the recommended program because the software program is available at Microsoft Download Center.
2. You must design an index file as a frame page; either two columns or two rows.
3. One of the columns/rows is used for a list of your Web pages. The items of the list can be your choices. However, at least one item is linked to an external Web site, for example, your favorite Web site. You also need to include at least three more additional items that are internal hyperlinks to your own Web pages. For example, you may link to your resume, class schedule, family, or friends.
4. The other column/row of the frame page is used to display the information of each item on the list. Make sure that the internal hyperlinks work. The default case is a welcome page. Your welcome message may include a poem or a picture of your choice.
5. The Web pages should include pictures from various sources. The pictures may come from Internet, a scanner, or a digital camera.
6. The collected picture images are lined up using tables without borders.
7. The final step is to use SSH Secure Shell program to upload your personal Web pages to our server at cs.loc.edu.
